Transparency and trust

Trust Through Radical Openness

Governance, financials, policies, and decision frameworks—published openly

We don't win trust by claiming purity—we win it by demonstrating systems. Transparency isn't a marketing claim; it's a commitment to publish what we do, how we decide, what we spend, and who oversees us.

This page contains our governance structure, audited financial statements, policies, and decision-making frameworks. If you have concerns or questions about our operations, we provide clear mechanisms for reporting and accountability.

Our Transparency Commitments

Audited Financial Statements

Annual financial statements audited by independent professionals following international auditing standards.

Governance Structure

Board composition, advisory circle, and decision-making processes published openly.

Policies & Procedures

Procurement principles, conflict of interest policy, safeguarding protocols, and reporting mechanisms.

Decision Framework

Clear criteria for case selection, verification steps, and approval processes.

How We Decide

To address concerns about "selective help," we publish our decision criteria openly. Every case we support must meet these standards, and we document why cases are approved or declined.

1Community Leadership

The initiative must be identified and co-designed by the conservancy or community committee, not imposed externally.

2Practical Impact

The intervention must address a solvable problem with measurable outcomes within a defined timeline.

3Urgency & Need

The case must represent an urgent need where delay would cause significant harm or missed opportunity.

4Alignment with CBNRM

The initiative must support Namibia's Community Based Natural Resource Management principles and policy framework.

5Safeguarding Compliance

All interventions must comply with our safeguarding policies and environmental impact assessments.

6Transparent Budgeting

Full cost breakdown with clear allocation of funds and procurement processes.

Governance Structure

The Grow Namibia Foundation operates as a Section 21 non-profit company registered in Namibia. This legal structure ensures that all activities are conducted for public benefit, not private gain.

Board of Directors

Our board provides independent oversight, strategic guidance, and ensures compliance with Namibian non-profit regulations and international best practices.

Board composition and member profiles are published in our annual report.

Advisory Circle

Our advisory circle includes conservation experts, community leaders, and CBNRM practitioners who provide technical guidance and ensure our work aligns with community needs and best practices.

Financial Transparency

We publish audited financial statements annually, prepared by independent auditors following international auditing standards. Our financial reports include full income and expenditure breakdowns, asset declarations, and notes on significant transactions.

Financial documents are being prepared for publication. Our first audited annual report will be available after the completion of our first full financial year.

Policies & Safeguarding

Procurement Principles

  • Competitive bidding for contracts above N$50,000
  • Local sourcing prioritized where quality and cost are competitive
  • Three-quote minimum for significant purchases
  • Full documentation of procurement decisions and vendor selection

Conflict of Interest Policy

Board members, staff, and advisors must declare any personal or financial interests that could conflict with their duties to the foundation. All potential conflicts are reviewed by the board and managed through recusal, disclosure, or other appropriate measures.

Safeguarding Protocols

We are committed to protecting communities, particularly vulnerable individuals, from harm. Our safeguarding protocols include background checks, code of conduct requirements, and clear reporting mechanisms for concerns or incidents.

Reporting Concerns

If you have concerns about our operations, financial management, safeguarding, or any other aspect of our work, we provide confidential reporting mechanisms.
